Welcome to the world, Gatzby Joel Jr. Wordsmith

Gatzby Joel JR. Wordsmith

Introducing the newest member of the guild, our little angel — The Great Gatzby.

A letter for my little son,
With love,
Mommy ❤

Gatz, I love you. You’re the best thing to have happened to me, after your father.

As I write, I realize no words can do justice to the true feelings I feel in my heart for you because you’re precious beyond this world.

The day you entered my life, is the day my life changed completely and it’s a day I will never forget.

As we introduce you to the world, we have decided to keep your cute face hidden to protect your space and privacy. It’s a choice you have to make as you grow older, as to how you want to deal with this alter-world called the Internet. You are your own human and no matter how much your Daddy and I would love to impose our desires on you, it’s unfair to your individuality and it’s something we will respect at all costs.

Yes, this world has made both your parents a little stone hearted and cutthroat, but you get special access to our unguarded hearts.

All we want you to know is NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, WE WILL ALWAYS STAND BESIDE YOU IN SUPPORT, READY TO FINISH OFF WHOEVER IS IN OPPOSITION OF YOU. REMEMBER THESE WORDS: NO MATTER WHAT.

My letter to my son is over, but a message to the world remains:

Joel and I have achieved so much in our 27-year-stint on this planet. Our experiences have covered all the good things and indulgences this life has to offer.

And yet starting and growing our family is what gives us the most satisfaction and a drive that gets us going every day.

In a world that pushes our generation to have lesser children (one child policy) and to prioritize our careers above being there for our own family, we have a different take that has proved to be fulfilling to us, going against this norm.

Of course, having a great career is a good thing, but having someone loyal by your side after your goals are achieved is honestly greater.

Invest in loyalty. Don’t run a race tirelessly for someone else’s dreams that you forget your own.

Invest in what fills up your soul and don’t care about the flesh suits who naysay. You live for you. 👋

Don’t tell a star not to shine, just 'cause some petty asteroid is out there burning.

The Prodigy Son

// poetry

Ostensibly, the "Prodigal son" was a “Prodigy”
The limiting shackles of society had him cursed,
The Prodigy Pen wrote a thesis on his adversaries,
Troubleshooting the prodigal people behind first.

The prodigal thief called “society”
Weighing down the prodigy from glistening to gloom,
Lurched, Prodigal son had his paths cursed by the holy shotgun, Stapling the luminaries down to being a “lume”.

Treacherous generations behind,
At the expense of the unversed juvenile sip some bribed wine, Survival hex to be eating with the pigs,
Poverty is mine, wine is thine?!

You ancient men of the world,
Should’ve given us an intimation before your dirty tricks,
You have practiced a million times the same syllabus of life,
Blessing the newcomers with unfair kicks!

To be the Breadwinner is the mission
Keep your impoverishing greedy disc with thou,
Brothel behind your pristine facade, Birthday humps after the first bow.

Prodigies would be dime a dozen,
If you’d only truly let the young hone their craft,
Callous-hearted elderly demote us at source,
Alas, the prodigal son sent away empty on a flimsy raft.

Prodigal Son must return & consume anything in his path impeding him from being a Prodigy.
